Welcome to Between the Pages, the program where we sit down with authors and book professionals to discuss the big subjects shaping literary culture. Dimitri Nasrallah received his guests at Montreal’s historic Gaston-Miron building.
Born in Lebanon, award-winning author, translator, and journalist Dimitri Nasrallah is the author of two novels. His 2011 novel, Niko, won the QWF Hugh MacLennan Prize for Fiction and has been longlisted for the 2013 IMPAC Dublin Award and 2016 edition of CBC’s Canada Reads. It’s currently being translated into French and Turkish. His 2005 novel, Blackbodying (DC Books), won the QWF McAuslan First Book Award and was a finalist for the Grand Prix du Livre de Montreal. His journalism has appeared in The Walrus, The Globe & Mail, Toronto Star, and Montreal Gazette. He has worked prolifically as a music journalist and critic, serving as an editor at the national music magazine Exclaim! from 2009 to 2011. Since 2007, Nasrallah has been a member of the part-time faculty at Concordia University’s English Department. Since 2014, he has hosted the airelibre.tv talkshow Between the Pages (30 episodes).
